Helaine Rich Weighs In on USPS Privatization Debate in SupplyChainBrain

As discussions around the future of the U.S. Postal Service intensify, Helaine Rich, Vice President of Strategic Sales and Administration at ePost Global, shares her perspective in a recent SupplyChainBrain feature examining the potential implications of privatization.

“USPS is built on a foundation of equal service at equal cost,” Rich explains. “As a private entity, that will no longer be able to exist.” She points to growing concerns about how rural communities could be impacted, noting that private carriers often rely on USPS for final-mile delivery to remote areas.

While full privatization remains unlikely in the near term, Rich believes structural change is inevitable.

“It’s really not sustainable to be able to continue to provide consistent service at a consistent price within the current structure,” she says. “I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw segmentation sooner than later.”
