Job Title: Director of Engineering (Logistics Solutions)

Supervision: Yes

Compensation: $180,000

Position Summary

ePost Global is seeking a Director of Engineering – Logistics Solutions to lead the design, development, and delivery of technology solutions that power our cross-border logistics network. This role blends strategy with execution: you’ll set the technical direction while also ensuring integrations, data flows, and client-facing systems are delivered on time, at scale, and with measurable business impact.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who can bridge logistics operations, technology, and engineering execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering Leadership
    • Lead the build and delivery of logistics technology solutions, covering cross-border parcel
      processing, customs compliance, billing, and tracking.
    • Manage onshore and offshore engineering resources, ensuring reliable delivery against business requirements.
    • Establish best practices for development, testing, and deployment in a lean environment.
  • Solution & System Design
    • Architect end-to-end solutions across carrier integrations, customs systems, and client platforms (e.g., Shopify, ERP, OMS, WMS).
    • Translate operational and customer needs into technical designs and working solutions.
    • Balance short-term tactical fixes with scalable long-term architecture.
  • Data & Integration Ownership
    • Oversee the development of APIs, ETL pipelines, and reporting frameworks.
    • Ensure accuracy, scalability, and compliance of data exchanged with carriers, customs authorities, and clients.
    • Implement monitoring and performance metrics for critical data flows.
  • Collaboration & Execution
    • Partner with operations, product, and client onboarding teams to ensure solutions align with
      business goals.
    • Manage vendor relationships and guide third-party implementations.
    • Deliver integration templates and playbooks to accelerate client onboarding.

Job Knowledge and Skills

Must Haves

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, systems architecture, or solutions delivery, with at least 5 years in logistics, e-commerce, 3PL, or parcel delivery.
  • Proven track record of leading engineering teams (including offshore resources) and delivering
    enterprise-level logistics solutions end-to-end.
  • Deep understanding of cross-border logistics, including customs clearance, duty/tax automation, and carrier integrations.
  • Hands-on technical skills in systems integration (APIs, middleware, iPaaS), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and data architecture (SQL, ETL, BI).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across executives, operations leaders, and clients.
  • Enterprise Architecture Leadership
    • Define and maintain the enterprise architecture roadmap for logistics, data, and client
      integration systems.
    • Align technology decisions with business strategy, ensuring scalability, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Logistics & Cross-Border Solutions
    • Design solutions to support customs clearance, duty/tax automation, and carrier integrations.
    • Ensure systems meet operational, regulatory, and customer requirements across multiple geographies.
  • Data & Systems Integration
    • Oversee data architecture, ETL pipelines, and reporting frameworks.
    • Drive standardization of APIs and data exchange with carriers, customs, and clients.
    • Partner with vendors to optimize TMS, WMS, OMS, and parcel systems.
  • Execution & Collaboration
    • Translate business needs into technical designs and implementation plans.
    • Work closely with operations, engineering, and product to roll out new capabilities.
    • Develop templates and best practices for client onboarding and solution deployment.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in technology architecture, with at least 5 years in logistics, e-commerce,
    3PL, or parcel delivery.
  • Proven ability to design and implement enterprise-level logistics or cross-border shipping solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of carrier systems, customs compliance, and duty/tax automation.
  • Strong technical foundation in systems integration (APIs, microservices, iPaaS) and data
    architecture (SQL, BI, ETL).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable working with executives,
    operations leaders, and technical teams.
  • Experience in a lean or high-growth 3PL/parcel environment.
  • Track record of bridging business and technology to drive measurable operational improvements.
  • Ability to build and lead a small solutions or architecture team over time.
  • Ability to manage and lead offshore development or support teams effectively.
