Meet David Gomes, one of driving forces behind our LAX facility as the General Manager at ePost Global. With a passion for leadership and a wealth of experience in international logistics, David has been a pivotal figure in the company’s growth and success. Tell us about yourself and your journey to work in International Logistics. 

I’m David Gomes, a natural-born leader who values loyalty, responsibility, fun, and respect. I’m a dedicated sports enthusiast, passionately supporting the LA Dodgers, LA Lakers, LV Raiders, and LA Kings. My love for travel takes me around the world, and I cherish spending time with my family wherever we go.

Tell us about your role at ePost Global

At ePost Global, I wear many hats. My primary role is the General Manager of our Los Angeles facility. Additionally, I serve as the Security Coordinator for our entire company. This dual role allows me to ensure smooth operations and maintain high security standards across our facilities.

What were your first steps to get into the industry?

I started my career in international logistics in 1999, at a time when the industry was very different. I began working with IPC (International Postal Consultants) as they were preparing to move their facility from Gardena, CA to Torrance, CA. Back then, the focus was primarily on mail rather than parcels, and there was minimal reliance on computers, with everyone concerned about the potential Y2K computer issues.

ePost Global stands out because of the strong, family-like bond among our employees. Many of us have been with the company for a long time, and we are deeply committed to helping each other succeed. We challenge and support one another to achieve success not just for ourselves but for our customers. What are you most proud of working at ePost? 

I take great pride in the development and growth of our entire organization. This includes the progress of our ownership, management, sales, customer service, and operations teams. I’ve been actively involved in starting new locations and fostering professional and personal relationships throughout the years, which has been incredibly rewarding.

What has been one of your best days at work so far?

I’ve had many memorable days at work, but one of the best was when I was promoted to my current position. It was a recognition of all my hard work and sacrifices. Another significant moment was in 2012, when I was trusted to open and manage our Chicago operations from scratch. This opportunity allowed me to grow as a young manager and contribute significantly to the company’s expansion.
