From sorting mail in a warehouse to overseeing customer service and onboarding, Andrea Gomes or Dre as she is called, has seen it all in her more than 20-year career in the shipping and logistics industry.

Her journey began in 1999 when she started working for iPC, eXpress Postal Options (XPO), which was later bought by RRD, which is now known as ePost Global. Through it all, she has stayed in Los Angeles, a city she calls home.

In her early days, not much was digitized, and sorting mail by country and region was a tedious process. But Dre persevered and moved up the ranks, taking on different roles, including dispatch, pickup, export department, airlines, and customer service. She worked her way up to supervisor and manager, overseeing billing and onboarding.

Today, Dre leads a team of dedicated individuals who support west coast customers in the same time zone. The experience and knowledge of her team are a benefit to assisting customers, especially those just starting to ship internationally. Her team has an average of 15 years of experience in customer service and international shipping.

With four facilities in the US, located in Chicago, Miami, New York, and Los Angeles, the ePost Global customer service group has 15 members nationwide.

What does Dre like most about her work?

It’s the interactions with everyone in operations, the commercial department, and all across Los Angeles. She credits her success to great leaders like Pep and Kelly, who have created a supportive culture that values respect and teamwork. For Dre, the people she works with are what keep her going.

Looking ahead, Dre believes that customers will continue to demand more innovation and exceptional service and support. Her team is quick to respond and willing to go the extra mile, which is why their customers stay with them.

Dre’s recent move to ePost was driven by the company’s dedicated go-to person approach. She appreciates having trained team members who know account specifics and can help anytime.

What does Dre enjoy in her spare time?

Her love for travel and spontaneity is reflected in her recent trip to Vegas. In her personal life, Dre is a proud mom to a 20-year-old son who is a musician and loves computers.

She enjoys Zumba after work and is an avid fan of football, the 49ers, and the baseball team, the Dodgers. Her love for travel has taken her to places like Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Florida, and Cabo, and she often travels with her two brothers and parents, whom she is very close to. Dre’s recent trip to Mardi Gras was another example of her love for adventure.
