Job Title: Vice President of Operations
Location: Itasca, IL
Reports to: Co-President
Compensation: $160,000 – $180,000 annually based on experience and qualifications
Position Summary
The Vice President of Operations is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing and optimizing all operational functions across the organization. This individual will lead strategic planning and execution of logistics, distribution, technology integration, and process improvement initiatives to ensure operational excellence, scalability, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute operations strategies aligned with corporate goals.
- Partner with the Presidents and executive team to drive growth, innovation, and service
excellence.
Operations Management
- Oversee all aspects of domestic and international logistics, and parcel distribution.
- Ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of services.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Technology & Systems
- Collaborate with IT and external partners to implement automation, tracking, and performance
analytics systems (e.g., sorters, tracking systems, warehouse management software). - Enhance systems integration across platforms to streamline workflows and improve visibility.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build and lead high-performing teams across operations, logistics, and customer support
functions. - Set performance targets and KPIs; ensure accountability and provide mentorship.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Manage relationships with logistics partners, carriers, and technology providers.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to international trade regulations, customs, and security requirements.
- Mitigate operational risks and develop contingency plans.
P&L Management
- Manage operational and transportation costs according to budget and targets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (MBA
preferred). - 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, with 5+ years at Director or Vice
President level. - 5+ years experience managing multiple facilities across US territory
- Proven experience in e-commerce logistics, international shipping, or global supply chain
management. - Strong understanding of technology platforms used in logistics and distribution.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-growth
environment. - Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- Must be willing and able to travel up
Preferred Competencies:
- Knowledge of international customs, duties, and shipping regulations.
- Experience in implementing WMS, TMS, ERP, or automation technologies.
- Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- TQM and ISO Program experience.
- Ability to scale operations to support rapid business growth.
