Position Summary

We’re seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to oversee and optimize our logistics and transportation operations within our Cypress, California, location. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient movement of goods, manage carrier relationships, improve cost-effectiveness, and maintain compliance with industry regulations. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills to drive operational excellence. As the key figure in our daily transportation operations, the Transportation Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of goods. This involves coordinating schedules, managing drivers, monitoring compliance with regulations, and maintaining service quality standards. This role will be working out of the Cypress, California facility.

Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of freight operations, route optimization, carrier negotiations, and regulatory compliance.
  • 5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • CDL certification (a plus but not required). Handle all related dispatch activities, like hiring, training, performance appraisals, etc.
  • Research and prepare resources to develop timely as well as efficient workflow
  • Maintain regular communication with all clients and external vendors, ensuring timely resolution of any issues that may arise.
  • Conduct routine audits and inspections of vehicles and drivers.
  • Execute personnel activities per the company’s policies and applicable laws; enforce compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA).
  • Prepare individual and departmental training plans.
  • Make sure that all staff members meet both company and location standards.
  • Monitor employees as well as operational processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.

  • Data entry, Email, Word, and Excel experience.
  • Required: valid Class B current driver’s license
  • Industry-related or equivalent export experience with domestic shipping and TSA requirements.
  • Prior experience in the logistics field or transportation of 6 months minimum
  • Be able to stand/walk for long periods, frequently push, pull, bend, reach, and lift to 49 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation

Pay Type

Estimated Wage Range $70k-$75K/Annually
