Job Title: Operations Manager International Mail & Parcel

Location: Itasca, IL (Onsite)

Reports to: Facility General Manager

Supervision: Manages operations personnel

Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for the coordination and performance in all areas of the production floor of international mail consolidation activities to meet work projections and meet customer requirements per Product Service Level agreements (SLA’s). Ensure work is scheduled and coordinated by staff in multiple operations areas including mail & parcel processing; sorting, fulfillment, and related areas; Export and Transportation to meet and maintain customers’ service expectations. Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to interpret and assess data for the basis of decision making.

Responsibilities

Must be able to define work based on evaluation of short term and long-term goals of the operating facility. Able to independently evaluate processes, identify areas of improvement, and incorporate into overall work objectives.

Candidates will be responsible for the coordination and performance in all areas of the production floor of international mail and parcel consolidation activities. Also responsible for supervision and development of area “Leads” to support area(s) production and quality standards and maintain quality targets within the corporate and business unit objectives while maximizing facility productivity to optimize labor costs.

Accountable to ensure all processes are followed through to the completion of work tasks. Provide first level instruction(s) and guidance to staff, regularly audit work processes and final products to confirm product specifications are met. Daily, proactive interaction with related teams; Sales, Customer Service, Data, Media to maintain overall customer satisfaction will be required. Maintain and update daily production records and produce reports as necessary. Active team members in corporate environmental, health, safety and quality initiatives and targets through staff engagement, training, and all safety procedures are followed by all employees.

  • Willing to take ownership of shifts and production related issues
  • Industry knowledge of international shipping or export practices would be a plus.
  • Office environment computer skills are required to meet all business facility goals and individual goals/metrics.

  • Must be able to communicate in English in a clear and concise manner in both written and verbal format.

Operations and/or transportation experience related to functional work or role with 5-7 years of relevant work experience or demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in a related field or equivalent preferred.
  • Five to seven years related experience or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating teams.

Pay Type

  • Pay Type: Salary
  • The estimated hourly wage range is $65,000 to $70,000 annually, depending on experience. based on experience
