Job Title: Operations Manager International Mail & Parcel
Location: Itasca, IL (Onsite)
Reports to: Facility General Manager
Supervision: Manages operations personnel
Shift: 3rd shift | 10:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing international mail consolidation activities across the production floor to meet work projections and customer requirements outlined in Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This involves scheduling and coordinating work across multiple operations areas, including mail and parcel processing, sorting, fulfillment, export, and transportation, to ensure that customers’ service expectations are met and maintained. The role also requires strong analytical and reporting skills to interpret and assess data for informed decision-making.
Responsibilities
The candidate must be able to define work based on evaluating the operating facility’s short-term and long-term goals. The candidate must also be able to independently evaluate processes, identify areas for improvement, and incorporate these into the overall work objectives.
Candidates will be responsible for coordinating and performing in all areas of the production floor of international mail and parcel consolidation activities. They will also be responsible for supervising and developing area “Leads” to support area(s) production and quality standards and maintain quality targets within the corporate and business unit objectives while maximizing facility productivity to optimize labor costs.
Responsible for ensuring all processes are followed to the completion of work tasks. Provide first-level instruction(s) and guidance to staff. Regularly audit work processes and final products to confirm product specifications are met. Daily, proactive interaction with related teams—Sales, Customer Service, Data, and Media—to maintain overall customer satisfaction will be required. Maintain and update daily production records and produce reports as necessary. Active team members in corporate environmental, health, safety, and quality initiatives and targets through staff engagement, training, and all safety procedures are followed by all employees.

- Industry knowledge of international shipping or export practices would be a plus.

Operations and/or transportation experience related to functional work or role with 5-7 years of relevant work experience or demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in a related field or equivalent preferred.
- Five to seven years related experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating teams.

Salary Range
- $65,000 to $75,000 annually, depending on experience.
