Job Title: Commercial Manager
Reports to: VP of eCommerce
Location: Cypress, CA or Itasca, IL
Supervision: Yes
Compensation: $90,000 – $100,000 annually based on experience and qualifications
Position Summary
The Commercial Manager plays a critical leadership role in driving cost optimization, strategic pricing, and operational efficiency across ePost Global’s international logistics network. This position manages the Commercial/Pricing team and is responsible for their continuous development and growth. The Commercial Manager is also instrumental in formulating pricing strategies, guiding data-driven
decision-making, supporting revenue growth initiatives and vendor negotiations. The Commercial Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional departments including Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, Export, and Billing to align pricing models with business goals, ensure customer satisfaction, and strengthen competitive positioning in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Commercial department, providing direction, mentorship, and development
opportunities to team members. - Design and implement pricing strategies and cost analyses that support profitability and long-term
growth. - Oversee preparation of complex pricing proposals for domestic and international mail, publications,
and parcel services. - Serve as a strategic advisor to Sales and Executive leadership, providing insights on transportation
market trends and competitive benchmarks. - Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of pricing initiatives with operational
capabilities and client expectations. - Develop and maintain comprehensive pricing models and reporting dashboards using advanced
Excel and business intelligence tools. - Support negotiations with vendors to ensure ePost Global has the most competitive rates in the
market. - Resolve billing discrepancies and client pricing issues through collaboration with A/P, Billing, and
Customer Service teams. - Recruit, train, evaluate, and retain top talent within the Commercial department.
- Drive process improvement initiatives, automate workflows, and establish best practices for scalable
pricing operations. - Ensure departmental KPIs and SLAs are met, reporting progress regularly to senior leadership.
- Perform other related duties and strategic assignments as directed by senior management.
Jobs Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Logistics, or related field preferred; Associate degree and
equivalent experience will be considered. - 5+ years of experience in commercial/pricing roles within logistics, with at least 2 years in a
supervisory or management capacity. - Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret data and forecast impact.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with data visualization, SQL, Python or pricing
tools is a plus. - Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop high-performing
teams. - Effective communicator with the ability to present complex pricing concepts to internal stakeholders
and customers. - Highly organized with the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Being bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
