Position Summary
As a Business Analyst in our Finance department, you will play a critical role in driving data-driven financial decision-making within the organization. This role blends financial analysis with business process improvement, leveraging SQL database management to extract, analyze, and interpret complex data sets. You will work closely with the finance, accounting, and IT teams to optimize financial operations, streamline reporting processes, and support strategic initiatives. This position will be working onsite at our Cypress, California, location.
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements. Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and manage large datasets from databases. Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to enhance budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes. Design and implement dashboards/reports to support financial analysis and business performance. Partner with IT to ensure data integrity, optimize database performance, and support system enhancements. Identify process inefficiencies within financial workflows and implement automation solutions. Conduct gap analyses to identify business needs and translate them into functional and technical requirements. Support month-end and year-end financial close activities with data-driven insights and reporting. Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed, including cost analysis and profitability studies.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or related field. 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, or related roles. Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and database management. Experience with financial systems (SAP, QB, or similar) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau). Solid understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to bridge technical/non-technical teams. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex modeling. Background in finance-related automation projects or business intelligence initiatives preferred.
Pay Type
Estimated Wage Range $80k-90K/Annually
